Remember the last time your work felt alive?

Not productive — alive.

Here's the thing nobody talks about: we learn early that the work isn't supposed to feel good now. It's supposed to pay off later. So we tolerate. "For the greater good." We work for the result — the publication, the launch, the recognition. And meanwhile the actual hours of our actual lives pass in a kind of half-sleep — not feeling our bodies because we don't want to acknowledge our suffering. "Soon it will all be worth it."

The resistance you feel opening a document is the same resistance a meditator feels sitting with discomfort. And it responds to the same thing: honest, gentle attention. When you bring that quality to your actual work — surrounded by people doing the same — something shifts.

This is a procrastination vaccine: participants finally get to the projects they'd been avoiding for years, or get clarity on what they need to do to make their dream, and start doing it!


What the week looks like

You bring your project — the paper, the code, the book — whatever's alive for you. We work together in focused blocks, cook together, play together, and get honest with each other about what we actually care about — and what we've been avoiding.

Days 1–2: Deep dive

90-minute work blocks, no guilt, no rules. Like a hackathon without the performance anxiety. Between blocks, quick mindfulness practice or check-ins with a buddy: "What are you noticing?"

Day 3: Patterns emerge

Some blocks felt like flow, some felt like pulling teeth. We look at that contrast together — not to fix it, but to see what it's telling you.

Days 3–4: It gets real

Small group conversations start weaving in — no advice, no fixing, just being seen. You might notice you're clenching your jaw before you open a document. You might catch yourself performing "deep work" for an audience that isn't there. You might realize the project you're avoiding isn't boring — it's terrifying because it actually matters. Work becomes a mirror for everything else.

Day 5: Landing

A final work block. A closing circle. Reflection. Not "what should you change?" — more like "what are you already doing, now that you're listening?"

Throughout: morning movement, communal cooking, fires, games, stargazing. The social warmth is what makes the transformation land.
